What is an Eco Design Ready stove?

All new stoves being installed form January 2022 will need to meet a minimum efficiency and have much lower emissions to adhere to the European-wide Air Quality strategy to lower emissions that are coming into force. Independent research conducted by Kiwa Gastec on behalf of the Stove Industry Alliance (SIA) has shown that modern clean burning stoves, designed to meet the new Ecodesign requirements will reduce particulate emissions by 90% compared to open fires and by 80-84% compared to an old stove. Unlike most older stoves, an Eco Design stove already gives off fewer carbon emissions into the atmosphere. Not only are they eco-friendlier, but Eco Design stoves are also more efficient as they’re fully-equipped with the latest technology in stove design.
